“Beyond the Horizon” is a collaborative event between Pathway Pavers and the York Catholic District School Board’s Black Graduation Coaches designed to empower Black high school students by cultivating leadership skills and fostering personal growth. 

Through keynote speeches, interactive workshops, and collaborative activities, students will gain practical leadership tools, build confidence, and be inspired to make a positive impact within their communities and beyond.

This is the ultimate resource for Black high school students ready to take on university applications with confidence! Whether you’re exploring schools, figuring out the OUAC process, or trying to understand the difference between scholarships, bursaries, and loans, this session is for you!

We’ll dive into everything from researching universities beyond academics (think social life, campus services, and what makes each campus unique!) to uncovering the best ways to find and apply for scholarships. Plus, you’ll get real insights from current Black university students who will share their journeys and tips for thriving in higher education.
